Barring unforeseen developments, CFSE 2021 will definitely be held as scheduled October 27-29 at the new Hongdao International Convention and Exposition Center in Qingdao. The show is expected to feature 1,500 exhibitors and more than 40,000 square meters of exhibit space. Some 35,000 visitors from 88 countries are expected to attend.

More than 75 percent of the companies that exhibited at CFSE 2019, have already booked space for CFSE 2021, which is the 25th Anniversary of what has become the world’s largest seafood show in terms of net exhibit space.

While there remain some trade challenges due to enhanced biosecurity measures, China largely recovered from the Covid-19 crisis last summer and trade shows are again being regularly held throughout China, say CFSE organizers.

“Although China has had very few cases of Covid-19 recently, CFSE will still feature enhanced safety measures such as mandatory mask wearing, sanitation stations and repeated temperature checks,” says Peter Redmayne, President of Sea Fare Expositions, Inc., CFSE Overseas Organizer.

As Covid-19 vaccinations become more widespread throughout the world by this summer, China is expected to suspend quarantine restrictions on overseas visitors, especially those who have been vaccinated. As a result, more international flights should be available to meet the anticipated increase in demand.

While some challenges remain to full recovery of China’s seafood market, China’s seafood imports should again start increasing, says Mrs. Ma Hongtao, Secretary General of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Sub Council Agriculture (CCPIT-SSA), the CFSE organizer. “As long as we strengthen the whole process management from origin to market, China’s door for imported aquatic products will open even wider and wider to meet the growing domestic demand. I look forward to meeting our overseas participants this October. There will be much to celebrate!”
